The death and loss of a loved one is the most painful and devastating of all life’s experiences. Loss of a loved one, especially of one’s child or parent, is an experience that we never completely get over, nor should we want to fully "get over it." As clinicians, we have discovered that our Memorial Videos assist family members in the grieving process. Healthy resolution of loss can open the door to a deeper and more satisfying sense of maturity, as well as assist a person in his or her own spiritual journey. Memorial Videos of a deceased loved one are not only blessed tributes to that person’s life, but they have been shown to assist family members in prioritizing what is important and what is not so important in the overall scheme of life, thus assisting them in psychospiritual maturity.

Our Memorial Videos and DVDs are a reverently and tastefully produced compilation of photos that have been taken of an individual throughout his or her life. We also incorporate live footage from family video tapes, in any format, or from 8mm and 16mm film of the deceased loved one, and integrate these visual media with his or her favorite songs and hymns. We creatively blend these into a collage of video segments and, if desired, add live interviews from family members to create a beautiful and moving account of the person’s life. Most of these productions are between 12 and 25 minutes in length and are priceless mementos that honor and celebrate an individual’s life.

We know that it requires considerable strength to successfully grieve the separation and loss of a loved one. But, as depth psychologists, we also realize that working our way through the painful process of separation, loss, and death can strengthen the human spirit. In our society, where death is often not accepted as an integral part of life, the resolution of grief is a difficult process, and often incomplete. But we have discovered that the repeated viewing of the Memorial Video of a loved one by those who are grieving, can greatly enhance their ability to resolve and integrate the pain of their loss, and bring them to a new, more sensitive and loving level of their own spirituality.
